A Punchdrunk production inspired by the 2007 horror film, following newlyweds James and Lou as they move to London and are plagued by a malevolent unseen force.
Paranormal Activity comes to Theatre Royal Brighton from Tuesday 24 to Saturday 28 November, as part of its first tour of the UK and Ireland. It's a stage production that takes its name from the 2007 horror film that grossed $194 million worldwide and brought the found-footage style back into the mainstream, but it's not a remake. This is an original story by Levi Holloway and Felix Barrett, the founder and artistic director of Punchdrunk and the international hit Sleep No More, whose thriller Grey House played on Broadway. It follows newlyweds James and Lou, who move from the States to London only to be plagued by a malevolent unseen force, and it lands on its feet with the line that places aren't haunted, people are.
After a sell-out run in the West End, the production is now on the road, having opened at Richmond Theatre on 5 September. The cast brings a fair bit of stage experience to the roles: James Bye, known from BBC's EastEnders, plays James; Hannah Sinclair Robinson, of The Play That Goes Wrong and The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, plays Lou; Jo Castleton, of War Horse, is Etheline Cotgrave; and Caroline Faber, of The Heiress, is Carolanne. It's written by Levi Holloway and directed by Felix Barrett.

There are seven performances over the five days. Tuesday 24 and Wednesday 25 November both start at 19:30. Thursday 26 November has a matinee at 14:30 and an evening show at 19:30. Friday 27 November is 19:30, and Saturday 28 November has a 14:30 matinee and a 19:30 evening show. Standard tickets are £15.60, a guide price, and the theatre is at New Road, Brighton, BN1 1SD.
