Our friends electric - Tom Sharkett & Richard Sen

Tom Sharkett and Richard Sen are playing WaterBear on Saturday 10 October, as part of the Our friends electric series. It's an up-close and personal session, and they're joined by special guests Airsine and Little Gem.

Sharkett is a Manchester producer who blends the weird, wonky and disparate elements of dance music. He hosts a monthly Soho Radio show called Inside the Outside — which shares a name with his club night at Todmorden's Golden Lion — and it ranges from dark-disco to cosmic dance and new wave. If that sounds like a lot of ground to cover in one hour, it's because it is; the set jumps from the moody, four-to-the-floor side of disco to the more spacey, cosmic end of the dance spectrum, with new wave tucked in between.

Richard Sen is a name that's come up a fair bit in the dance world lately. Ransom Note has described him as 'sporadic, wild and free' and 'one of the best in Britain'. Between the two of them, you've got a Manchester producer who pulls together a wide range of dance styles and a DJ known for a more unpredictable, free-form approach. With Airsine and Little Gem on the bill as well, there's plenty of room for the night to go in a few different directions.
