Open Mic Night at The Secret Comedy Club

The Secret Comedy Club hosts its open mic night on Tuesday 30 June, from 20:00 to 22:30. It's the club's longest-running and most popular open mic, and it's widely regarded as the biggest night for new material and open mic comedy on the South Coast. The club is an independent venue, and the night brings together professional comics, semi-pros, and newcomers all on the same bill.

That's the thing about an open mic: you're seeing work in progress. It's where comics test out new bits and refine their timing before they make it into a polished set. Because it's an open mic, the line-up can change, but this particular night features Caz Thorne, Aleksander Økland, and Paul F. Taylor. You'll get a mix of established names and people you've never heard of, with the night running through to 22:30.

It's an adult night, so this isn't one for the kids or a family outing. If you're coming, it's worth arriving a bit early to bag a good seat, as the room can fill up. The club is located at Artista, 42 Brighton Square, BN1 4HD, right in the heart of the city.
