A nighttime trail for families to celebrate The Story Trail, with transformed BookBenches and activities along the route.
Once Upon A Trail takes over The Colonnade Bar on Wednesday 28 October, a one-night celebration of The Story Trail, one of Amaze's ongoing projects. It's a nighttime walk for families, so if you've got kids in tow, this is one to keep on the radar for a mid-week evening out.
Here's how it works: everyone meets at the start location, picks up a map and wristbands, and then sets off along a route through the city. Along the way, you'll come across a selection of Amaze's BookBenches, but for this one night, they've been transformed. Each one becomes its own stop, with its own activity or installation to get stuck into, so the walk is less about getting from A to B and more about what you find at each bench. It's a good way to see The Story Trail in a different light—literally—and to experience the project as a shared evening out rather than something you just stumble across on your own.

The whole thing runs from 17:00 to 20:00, so it's an early one that wraps up well before the school-night scramble. The start point is The Colonnade Bar, 10 New Road, Brighton, BN1 1UF, which is where you'll get your map and wristbands before heading out. Tickets are £7.50 standard, £4.00 for children, and £3.00 for concessions—guide prices, so they might shift a bit, but that's the ballpark. It's a single night, so if you want to do it, you'll need to make that Wednesday window work.
