Live music night featuring Minor Dents album launch, with support from Sons of Viljems and Hand of Glory.
Minor Dents are playing The Folklore Rooms on Friday 11 December, and it's an album launch. It's been a busy 2026 for the trio: they put out their debut EP in January, played the Lewes Psychedelic Festival and a string of live dates, and then expanded that EP into a vinyl LP on the Italian label Disasters By Choice. The set will be built around that new record.
They make propulsive, melodic songs that have drawn comparisons to Broadcast, ESG, Young Marble Giants, Add N to (X) and Silver Apples — a list that spans post-punk, no-wave, and early electronic experimentation. If you're familiar with any of those, you've got a good handle on where they sit.
Support comes from label mates Sons of Viljems, a London duo whose ambient soundscapes blend melodic storytelling with electric jazz, drone, heavy dub lines and cinematic elements reminiscent of Ennio Morricone; they released Lithospheric Melodies on Disasters By Choice in 2024. Hand of Glory are an experimental duo: Ed Briggs (ChopChop, Zool) builds ghostly, grainy textures from hand-made synths and percussion, while Giulia Cavallini (Presence, Planetary Gong Ensemble) is a gong player and sound healer. DJ Fiery Biscuits will be on the decks as well.
