A wellbeing event for International Women's Day featuring workshops, movement sessions, and DJ sets at Ironworks Studios.
On Sunday, 8th March, Ironworks Studios is hosting Mind Your Rhythm - Wellbeing & Day DJs, an event specifically timed to coincide with International Women’s Day. Organised by Stephanie Young under SayDesignEvents, the day is structured as a launch event that blends wellness workshops with electronic music in a sober, inclusive environment. While the organiser has roots in the lesbian and queer community through projects like GirlFlix, this gathering is designed for a wider audience interested in health and community connection. It’s a chance to spend the day at a well-known central Brighton venue focusing on empowerment through a mix of structured sessions and more relaxed social time.

The programme is divided into two distinct halves, starting when doors open at 10:45. The morning is dedicated to wellbeing, beginning at 11:00 with a Women’s Circle hosted by Kalie Jade. This is followed at midday by Mimi Banks, who will lead a session on somatics and sound, focusing on movement for joy and connection. As the afternoon progresses, the atmosphere shifts towards a club-style setting but remains within daytime hours. At 13:00, DJ S2K takes over with a set focused on female icons, followed by DJ Lola at 14:30, who will be playing uplifting vocal house until the event concludes at 16:00.
In terms of practicalities, the standard entry is £10.00, though there are different ticket tiers depending on whether you want to participate in the full workshop programme or just arrive for the DJ sets. The event is also categorised as family-friendly, and children under 14 are able to attend for free when accompanied by an adult. Beyond the music and movement, the day serves a dual purpose by supporting Kennedy Street Recovery, a choice that aligns with the event's focus on health and community support. It offers a structured way to mark International Women's Day in Brighton for those who prefer a daytime, alcohol-free setting.
