Texas post-hardcore revival band I Promised The World returns to the UK on their European and UK tour, supported by Rosasharin.
I Promised The World play Daltons on Tuesday 20 October, part of a 14-date European and UK tour. They're a five-piece from Texas, and this is their first proper run of shows outside the US. The Brighton date is presented by Burning Water, and they're sharing the bill with Rosasharin.
Their self-titled EP is out via Rise Records, and it's a Texas post-hardcore revival with scream-along choruses and deathcore crunch breakdowns. If you're not familiar with the sound, that's the melodic, singable side of the genre meeting the heavy, slow-down sections that come later in the set. It's a bit of a gap in the local scene, so it's worth knowing what they're bringing over.
The tour itself came about after the band played their first ever gig abroad at Outbreak Fest. Frontman Hunter Wilson said the reception there blew him away, and that's what prompted the announcement of a full UK tour. This Brighton stop is one of 14 dates across Europe and the UK, so it's a long way from Texas for a five-piece to travel.
