A musical odyssey with disco, Balearic, house and techno, bringing a festival atmosphere to the beachfront venue Tempest.
House of Bamboo brings Odyssey to Tempest on Saturday 25 July, a return to the Brighton beachfront that they're framing as a musical journey through disco, Balearic, house and techno. The night starts at 19:00, and the whole thing is built around that festival feel โ sun-soaked vibes and colourful decor, with the music shifting across those four styles over the course of the evening.
On the lineup are House of Bamboo, Oh See, Sam Red, Missing People and Chicha Morada. It's a broad spread of names to cover that ground, and the way it's billed suggests the night will move through the genres rather than sticking to one โ starting with the lighter, Balearic and disco side of things and working its way towards the house and techno as the night goes on.
Tempest is well-placed for it, too. It sits right on the beach at 159-161 Kings Road Arches, and the seafront terrace is a big part of the draw, especially on a July Saturday. Inside, the bar is lit with lanterns, and there are individual caves you can book for parties if you're coming with a group. Between the terrace and the interior, it's a venue that works as well for a slow start in the sun as it does for the later, darker hours.
