Hastings trio HotWax perform at Chalk in Brighton as part of their 22-date UK and EU headline tour, featuring special guests Jeanie and The White Boys.
This Friday, the 13th of February, the Hastings trio HotWax are bringing their headline tour to Chalk here in Brighton. It is part of a fairly busy 22-date run across the UK and Europe, following the release of their debut album, Hot Shock. You might have noticed the record recently, as it reached number one in the UK record store charts and was named Album of the Month by Rough Trade. The band, consisting of Tallulah Sim-Savage, Lola Sam, and Alfie Sayers, has spent the last year or so building a reputation for a sound that blends grunge-laced punk with post-punk and alternative rock.

For the Brighton show, doors are scheduled to open at 18:30. They are bringing Jeanie and The White Boys along as special guests, which should make for a solid lineup. If you are planning on going or taking someone younger, keep in mind that the event is for those aged 14 and over, and anyone under 16 needs to be accompanied by an adult. It is a straightforward setup at Chalk, and the band is arriving in town fresh from a string of other dates, including a recent stop at the Rescue Rooms in Nottingham.
While they only released their first EPs in 2023, the group has been remarkably active, clocking up over 200 performances in just 18 months. This includes festival slots at places like Download and Mad Cool, as well as support tours for established acts like Royal Blood, Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes, and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. That level of stage time usually means a very polished live performance. They also have some new official merchandise available for this tour if you are the type who likes to pick up a souvenir at the venue.
Regarding tickets, you can find them on the usual platforms like Ticketmaster, See Tickets, and DICE. Prices seem to fluctuate a bit depending on where you look, with some ranges cited between £1.00 and £22.61, though the general standing entry is listed at £16.88 including fees on Gigantic. It is a decent option for a Friday night if you want to see how their new material translates from the studio to a local stage, especially given the momentum they have picked up since their early releases.
