Live music gig featuring alt-rock bands Honeyglow, Hestia and Sundaughter at The Rossi Bar.
Honeyglow are playing The Rossi Bar on Thursday 17 September, with Hestia and Sundaughter on the bill. It's a night of three alt-rock bands, each coming from a different corner of the scene, and they're all playing the same stage on the same evening.
Honeyglow take the headline spot. They're an alt/riot grrrl band led by Izzy Thomas, with Jessie Hill, Luke Howard and George Hardy making up the rest of the line-up. They describe their sound as a mix of distortion, bright hooks and raw emotion — the kind of thing that sits somewhere between a loud guitar band and a pop record. If you're into that riot grrrl energy, they're the ones to watch.
Supporting them are Hestia and Sundaughter. Hestia is a new alt-rock band from London, originally from Winchester, and they're focused on an energetic live show built around guitars and vocals. Sundaughter is a shoegaze quartet from Reading, known for dreamy textures and Eastern influences — they cite Khruangbin, The Smiths and Angel Olsen as references, so you can get a fair idea of where their sound comes from. Between the three, you've got a good spread of alt-rock, from the more direct energy of Honeyglow and Hestia to the atmospheric, shoegaze side of Sundaughter.
