Hang Massive play Chalk on Wednesday 19 May 2027, from 19:00 to 22:00. They're pioneers of the handpan, and this is part of a wide-reaching tour that takes them through the UK, Europe, North America, Australia and India throughout the year.
The project started in 2011 when founding members Danny Cudd and Markus Offbeat met on the shores of Goa, India. They still split their time between their home studio there and touring the world. Both are dedicated Dzogchen practitioners, and they draw on that practice and their Root Guru Ziji Rinpoche in their work. Their first release and video, Once Again, has been watched over 60 million times online and is credited with introducing the handpan to a worldwide audience.
Their signature sound blends the handpan with electronic soundscapes, live instrumentation and immersive visuals, which they describe as both uplifting and deeply moving. This particular show is part of a new era for the band: they're touring a brand-new album and an entirely new live experience, which they've billed as their most ambitious live production yet. It follows Beyond the Horizon, their biggest tour to date.
