If you have spent any time wandering through the narrow alleyways of The Lanes in Brighton, you might have noticed the history tucked away behind the modern shopfronts. The Ghost Walk of The Lanes is a guided tour led by actor and storyteller Rob Marks, who is also known as Silas the Ghost Walker. The walk lasts between 70 and 80 minutes and covers eight specific locations, including Brighton Old Town Hall, The Old Steine, Steine House, The Black Lion, Black Lion Lane, Meeting House Lane, The Cricketers, The Druid’s Head, and Hannington’s Lane. During the walk, the focus remains on local legends, historical accounts of murders, and reports of poltergeists, with the guide often appearing in Victorian attire.

For those interested in joining, the public tours run from Wednesday to Saturday, starting at 19:30. The meeting point is The Druid’s Head on Brighton Place. The season for 2026 runs from 2 February until 30 November, and there is no requirement to book in advance for these public sessions. If you are planning a private event, these can be arranged for any day of the week at a cost of £200.00, provided there is a minimum group size of 15 people.
Regarding the costs for the public tours, tickets are priced at £12.00 for adults, £10.00 for seniors over 65, and £8.00 for concessions, which includes students and those under 16. A family ticket is available for £32.00, covering two adults and two children, with payments accepted in both cash and by card. The tour is designed to be accessible for wheelchair users, is LGBTQIA+ friendly, and welcomes guide dogs.
