A two-day free music festival celebrating underground DIY grassroots music, featuring punk rock, garage rock and hardcore bands from across the UK and beyond.
Garageland are taking over Daltons for two days on Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 July, the first edition of what they're calling Garagelandfest. It's a free festival of punk, garage rock and hardcore, with bands coming from across the UK and beyond to play the same stage over the weekend.
Saturday's line-up brings together The Restarts, AKU, Snatch, Sternums, Claw Machine, Hissy Fist, The Monday Smile, Oedipus and the Mama's Boys. Sunday follows with Kitchen Lover, Clubheads, The Breaking Hands, Mass Lines, Chinese Junk, X-Ray Love, Wet Paint, 2:19 Special, The Targets and Vulva. Between the two days, that's nineteen bands in total, so there's plenty to get through if you stick around for both.
Garageland describes the weekend as a celebration of underground DIY grassroots music, and they're pretty open about what's driving it: loud guitars, sick bands and the DIY spirit they've always been about. It's a first edition, so this is the start of the thing rather than another year of it.

Daltons is on Madeira Drive, under the Brighton Zip, BN2 1TB. Entry is free for both days, so you can drop in for a few bands on the Saturday and come back for more on the Sunday without having to commit to the whole weekend in one go.
