A free punk and hardcore music night at Daltons featuring Barriers, Quick Romance, Virvon Varvon, Sleuth Gang and Fat Lloyd.
This Saturday, 21st February, Garageland Brighton is taking over Daltons on the Lower Promenade for a night of punk and hardcore right by the seafront. The event is set up as a free party, though you do need to grab a ticket through the DICE platform to get in. Doors open at 19:30, and since the venue has a strict capacity of 200 people, it’s worth keeping that limit in mind if you're planning to head down. It is an 18+ event, located just under the Brighton Zip at BN2 1TB.

The lineup features five bands with quite different takes on the genre. Local Brighton group Fat Lloyd will be bringing what they call their "StonerMotorGroove" sound—essentially something raw and loud. They are joined by Virvon Varvon, who are veterans of the UK scene with members from bands like Black Time and Wake Up Dead. If you're into the 90s sound, Barriers are also on the bill, performing a mix of skate punk and modern hardcore as a four-piece unit.
Adding some variety to the night, Sleuth Gang are travelling down from Leeds. They are a seven-member outfit that blends punk and rap with hip-hop and dance music, which often leads to comparisons with the Beastie Boys or The Clash. The final addition is Quick Romance, a band that describes their performance style through "cheap thrills" and high energy. With five acts scheduled to play in an intimate space, the evening is designed to move through these different styles fairly quickly.
Because the event is free and held on a Saturday night, the 200-person capacity is the main thing to consider for entry. The location at Daltons puts the music right on the beach, providing a specific atmosphere for the hardcore and punk sets. Everything is confirmed for a 19:30 start, so the schedule will likely be tight to fit in all five performances before the night ends.
