Indie-dance duo Friendly Fires promote their new album 'Dig Deeper' with an intimate outstore show at Chalk in Brighton.
Friendly Fires play Chalk on Sunday 31 January, one of a run of intimate outstore shows across the UK to mark the launch of their fourth album, Dig Deeper. The record comes out on 15 January through LAB Records, preceded by the lead single 'Magnetic', which has had BBC 6 Music behind it and made the playlists on Radio X and Virgin Radio.
It's been nearly a decade in the making, and the duo — childhood friends Ed Macfarlane and Edd Gibson — built the album around a wide-reaching playlist of influences. Talking Heads and New Order sit alongside Madchester, Balearic beats and nu-rave. You can hear those references working their way through the tracklist: the opener 'Lose All Your Friends' nods to the Madchester sound, while the closer 'Wear It Out' tips its hat to Primal Scream's Screamadelica.
