A monthly live music showcase featuring George Bloomfield, a secret guest and Hamish, blending indie, jazz, funk and psych in a seated 18+ venue.
George Bloomfield brings his full band to The Folklore Rooms on Tuesday 15 September, as part of the Folklore Monthly Showcase. He's joined by a secret guest and Scottish alt-pop artist Hamish, making it three acts on the bill. The night is presented by Folklore Sessions, and it runs from 19:30 to 23:00.
Bloomfield's set is a fusion of indie, jazz, funk and psych, with soaring horns, lush arrangements and cinematic songwriting. He's played major UK festivals and has had support from BBC Radio 2 and 6 Music. Hamish blends heartfelt songwriting with infectious indie-pop, drawing on Dominic Fike and Paolo Nutini. The secret guest remains just that for now, so you'll find out who they are on the night.
The Folklore Monthly Showcase is a long-running feature of The Folklore Rooms, Brighton's small venue for independent artists, and has been introducing three artists each month to audiences since 2014. It takes place on the third Tuesday of every month and works on a first-come, first-served basis: arrive early, join the queue and gain entry. The night is strictly 18+ and fully seated.
