First Press Record Fair

First Press Record Fair is taking over Brighthelm Church and Community Centre on Saturday 8 August, from 12:00 to 16:00. It's the biggest vinyl fair Brighton has seen to date, with 20 sellers, collectors and shops bringing together records from across the genres. If you're into digging through crates, this is the one to have on your radar.

There's a good mix of new and returning names. Making their debut are Plays at 45, Bobby Coulman, Vinyl Minds Japan Finds and Steve Murphy. Hive Mind and Greg Phillips are back for the first time in a while, and returning from previous fairs are Rob Life, So Far So Real, Balearic Mike & Khaled Lowe, David Loja and Vinyl Selecter. Daddy Bug Records & Keyring Records, Geoff Finch (Vinyl Man) and Dr Bob Jones are also returning. DJ Format is on as special guest, and the afternoon is kept moving with vinyl sets from The Virgin Vinyls, DJ Tom Yum and First Press George.

When the fair wraps at 16:00, the party moves on to the Earth and Stars for an after party, so you can keep the music going well into the evening. The whole thing is aimed at vinyl fans, collectors and anyone who loves the format, with the fair itself running for four hours on the Saturday.

Entry is £4 on the door before 16:00, which includes a donation to Help Musicians, the charity that supports emerging artists. Donations are still welcome after that. The fair is at Brighthelm, 53 North Road, Brighton, BN1 1YD, from 12:00 to 16:00.
