F*ck Me It's Freshers comes to Horizon Nightclub on Sunday 27 September, part of the annual run of parties for new university students and 18+ returners. It's a long-running one: it started back in 2008 at the 3,000-capacity Coronet in London and has been an annual tradition for 18 years now.
The nights are built around a carnival atmosphere, and that's where most of the detail is. There's free UV paint, neon glowsticks and LED batons, stilt walkers, UV neon dancers, exploding confetti cannons, free sweets, neon face-painting stations and T-shirts. The music comes from some of the city's biggest DJs, and the bar does cheap student drinks. Past editions have featured Mark Francis and Charlie Sloth.
Behind it is Your Freshers Guide, which describes itself as the UK's biggest student events company. They've got a specific policy for the university crowd: tickets are refundable if the holder doesn't get into their first-choice university.
