A week-long celebration of English wines featuring tastings, vineyard tours, and gastronomic events across Brighton and the Sussex region.
English Wine Week is returning from 20 to 28 June 2026. It is a national event coordinated by WineGB, but given that Sussex is home to 138 vineyards, Brighton serves as a central hub for the celebrations. The week focuses on the range of English wines, from sparkling varieties to still reds, whites, and rosés. It is a straightforward opportunity to explore what is being produced locally, as many estates are opening their doors for specific activities throughout the week.

There is a variety of programming across the region. If you are looking for something active, Leonardslee Wine Estate is hosting the 'Leonardslee Sparkling Run' on 20 June, which is for adults only, alongside their regular tastings and buggy tours. For those interested in music and social events, Wiston Estate is holding an anniversary party, while Ridgeview Wine Estate is offering tastings on their terrace. If you prefer something more intimate, Albourne Estate in Hove has private tastings scheduled. There is also the 'LOST Stopham Wine Supper', which features a six-course menu for £50, with an optional wine flight available for an additional £25.
Most of these events require advance booking, so it is worth checking availability sooner rather than later. As an example of how quickly things can fill up, the 'English Wines and Cheeses' event at Hotel du Vin is already listed as sold out. Since many of these experiences are tailored for adults, it is worth noting that age restrictions apply to certain activities, such as the run at Leonardslee. Whether you are interested in a structured tasting or a dinner pairing, the week offers a look into the local wine scene without the need to travel far from the city. It is a chance to see how the local industry operates, from the vineyard tours to the final glass, and to engage with the producers directly.
