London singer-songwriter Eli performs his album Dork Mode RAW with big vocals and a full band at The Folklore Rooms.
Eli plays The Folklore Rooms on Friday 7 August, presented by Folklore Sessions. He's a London singer-songwriter who first caught on when a piano session of his song '15 And Alive' at St Pancras went viral, and he's been playing across London and Brighton ever since. He's built up a Mahogany session and grown his audience from a few hundred to tens of thousands.
On the night, he'll be performing Dork Mode RAW, the follow-up to his first album. It's an acoustic version he wanted to make, but with a full band behind him, recorded in a 70-capacity room and rounded out with a couple of bonus tracks. The set puts those big vocals front and centre, with the full band filling out the sound.
Eli describes his music as big pop vocals over production that pulls from Prince, The 1975 and other unexpected places, with writing that deals in identity, queerness and growing up. It's that mix of pop sensibility and more personal, specific songwriting that's been his through-line from the early viral clips to the full-band shows he's playing now.
