A free group ceramics exhibition featuring work by Annie Lyle and eight ceramicists from her Ula Ceramics workshops.
If you are looking for something to do in Brighton towards the end of March, the Phoenix Art Space is hosting a group ceramics exhibition titled Drift Tide Form. The exhibition is curated by Annie Lyle, an artist and sculptor who leads the Ula Ceramics workshops. This show brings together work from eight ceramicists who have participated in her classes. It marks the first time this specific group has exhibited their work together, showcasing pieces that were developed during their evening sessions. The focus is on the process of people coming together to work with clay and finding a creative outlet through that shared experience.

The pieces on display are entirely handmade, utilising traditional coil and slab building techniques. The artists have explored a range of themes, including the sea, the local landscape, the human body, and memory. By using these specific methods, the ceramicists have created a collection that reflects their individual approaches to the material. The Phoenix Art Space, situated at 10-14 Waterloo Place, is a venue that houses around 100 artist studios and two public galleries. It provides a setting for this kind of work to be presented to the public, allowing visitors to see the results of the workshops in a gallery environment.
The exhibition is scheduled to run from 25 to 29 March 2026. It will be open to the public daily between 12:00 and 17:00. There is no entry fee for the exhibition, and no tickets are required to visit. Whether you have an interest in ceramics or are simply curious about the creative work being produced in the local area, the space is open to everyone. The exhibition offers a look at how these traditional techniques have been applied by the group, providing an opportunity to view the collection at your own pace during the five-day period.
