A musical based on the bestselling book series by Dav Pilkey, following the adventures of George and Harold and their hero Dog Man, perfect for family audiences.
Dog Man: The Musical comes to the Theatre Royal from 15 to 17 January 2027, a new stage show based on the bestselling book series by Dav Pilkey. If you've got kids at home, you'll know the name — Pilkey is the same writer behind Captain Underpants and Cat Kid Comic Club, so this is right in that same wheelhouse. It's aimed at ages 5 and up, and it's a short run, just three days in the middle of January.
The story starts with George and Harold, now ten, who decide to write a musical about their favourite character, Dog Man: a crime-biting hero part dog, part man, with the head of a dog and the body of a policeman. From there, the action kicks in: Dog Man sets out to save the city from Flippy the cyborg fish and his army of Beasty Buildings, while also trying to catch Petey, the world's most evil cat, who's cloned himself to get revenge on Dog Man. It's a lot of canine chaos and creative fun brought to the stage, with a good few songs and a message about friendship and hope running through it.

On stage, the production stars Brad Alexander and Kevin Del Aguila. Between the two of them, they'll be bringing the characters to life across the three performances. It's pitched as a family show, so it's one of those things you can take the whole lot to without worrying about who's too young or too old. Tickets start from £28.00, and the run is 15 to 17 January at the Theatre Royal.
