A roaming sound bath along Brighton beach with wireless headphones, live music and the sea as a backdrop.
Flux are taking their sound bath to the beach on Thursday 30 July, with a special edition session called Deep Listening: Walk at Yellowave Beach Sports Venue. It's a roaming experience rather than a seated one: you'll be given wireless headphones and then wander freely within a dedicated beach area as the sun sets, moving at your own pace while the sound unfolds around you.
What you'll hear through the headphones is a mix of live music, ambient soundscapes, field recordings and gentle guided listening. Because you're moving, the experience changes depending on where you stop and how you drift. The sea serves as the backdrop, so the natural sound of the coast sits alongside the music. The hub for the evening is Yellowave, a calm beachside space set up with beanbags, yoga mats, art materials and teas, with open views across the water.
This session is part of a summer series exploring new deep listening formats across land, water and heat. It's run as an intimate concept event with under half the usual capacity and very limited tickets, so it's one of the smaller Flux gatherings. It's an 18+ event.
