A floating sound bath in an illuminated pool with ambient soundscapes, field recordings and live music, designed for rest and release.
Deep Listening: Float is a floating sound bath at Brighton Swimming School on Sunday 9 August, from 17:00 to 19:00. It's part of the school's summer series, which is exploring new deep listening formats across land, water and heat.
The setup is simple: you lie back on a floating mattress on the surface of the water while ambient soundscapes, field recordings and live music unfold around you. The pool glows, and the whole thing is described as an intimate concept that brings together sound, light and water into a calm, immersive environment for rest and release. It's less of a performance to watch and more of something to drift in.
There are a few practical things to keep in mind. The session is for over-18s only and runs with very limited capacity, so it's a small group rather than a crowd. Free parking is available on site, and teas and water are provided. Participation is at your own risk, and photo and video content is captured throughout the session.
