Comedy & Jazz

Comedy & Jazz is at Artista Cafe & Gallery on Thursday 15 October, starting at 7:00 pm. It's a night that puts stand-up and live jazz on the same bill, and the two don't just sit side by side — they work together. The comedy is delivered with musical stings and playful riffs from the band, so the music is woven right into the act rather than just filling the gaps between sets.

Once the comedy is done, the night shifts gears. The band stays on to play a full late-night jazz set, and that part of the evening is run by The Secret Comedy Club. It's a two-act night in one: the stand-up first, and then the jazz taking over for the rest of the evening.

Artista Cafe & Gallery is an independent venue in the heart of The Lanes, a stone's throw from the seafront and the Royal Pavilion. It's a cosy arts bar with a front-room feel, and it programmes an eclectic mix of art exhibitions, live music, theatre, poetry, storytelling and comedy. It also runs comedy courses and has a photography studio on site.

The night is aimed at comedy fans and stand-up enthusiasts looking for curated laughs and sharp wit from seasoned performers. It starts at 7:00 pm at Artista Cafe & Gallery, 42 Brighton Square, Brighton.
