Christmas Regency Cream Teas

Christmas Regency Cream Teas are coming to the Royal Pavilion on Tuesday 15 and 22 December, with two sittings each day at 2pm and 4pm. It's part of the Pavilion's winter programme, A Fairytale of Frost and Fire, which runs from 21 November 2026 to 10 January 2027 and also includes a traditional carol concert in the Music Room and Christmas Banquets.

The afternoon starts with a wander through the winter exhibition before you settle into the King William IV Room, a space that's rarely open to the public. There, staff dressed in elegant Regency attire serve freshly baked scones and a seasonal tea, while a short reading from one of Jane Austen's novels plays in the background. The Royal Pavilion itself was King George IV's Brighton palace, and its interior still shows the opulent Regency style of the monarch's reign, so the period dress and the Austen reading fit right in.

It's a slow-paced way to spend a winter afternoon, and since it's tucked into the wider Frost and Fire programme, you can pair it with the other festive things going on at the Pavilion over the run. Just a practical note: access to the King William IV Room is by stairs only.

Tickets are £32, which includes admission to the Royal Pavilion, and there's a 15% discount for members. The sittings are on Tuesday 15 and 22 December at 2pm and 4pm.
