Live music gig with Cheekface, supported by Emperor X and Playboy Manbaby, at CHALK.
Cheekface play Chalk on Tuesday 24 November, part of their 2026 UK tour. They're an American indie rock band from Los Angeles, formed in 2017 and signed to America's Local Band. The night is presented by Love Thy Neighbour, and they're sharing the bill with Emperor X and Playboy Manbaby.
It's a tour for their newest record, Podium, which came out on 28 July. Cheekface wrote the music and lyrics for the whole thing, with one exception: 'U Can't Do It' was written with Katie McTigue. Amanda Tannen did the cover art, Eric Palmquist produced and mixed it, and David Kutch handled the mastering. It's their sixth album in seven years, following Therapy Island in 2019, Emphatically No. in 2021, Too Much to Ask in 2022, It's Sorted in 2024, and Middle Spoon in 2025.
Opening the night is Emperor X, the stage name Chad Matheny has used since 1998. He works in the space between indie rock and emo folk/punk and is based just outside Berlin. Playboy Manbaby is also on the bill.
