Celya Ab is bringing her show, We Must Stop Meeting Like This, to the stage. The material focuses on the concept of breaking away from shame and exploring what happens when you actually do that. You might recognise her work from writing for Saturday Night Live UK, or perhaps from her appearances on Live At The Apollo and the Off Menu podcast. She has also spent time supporting acts like Nick Mohammed and Sarah Keyworth on tour, so this session offers a chance to see her developing new material in a more intimate setting.
Sharing the bill is Amy Annette with her show, Say What You Like About Me. Her set centres on the experience of being attractive, or perhaps the lack thereof, depending on how you look at it. Amy has been involved in projects like The Way Out on U&Dave and has appeared on BBC Radio 4 and the Off Menu podcast. Like Celya, she has experience touring as support for comedians such as Aisling Bea. Seeing these two comedians test out new ideas in a venue like the Caroline of Brunswick, located at 39 Ditchling Road, is a straightforward way to spend an evening if you enjoy stand-up comedy. Tickets for the event are priced at ยฃ8.00.
