Can You Catch a Serial Killer? comes to Ironworks Studios on Friday 4 September, billed as the UK's first interactive serial killer investigation. It's not a play you just sit and watch; the whole point is that you're part of the case. The show puts the audience into a live investigation through dramatised crime scene mock-ups, criminal profiling, investigative techniques, forensic evidence and simulated autopsies, with serial killer expert Cheish Merryweather guiding the way.
Everyone gets a CLiKAPAD device on a lanyard to vote on the fly and make critical decisions as the killer strikes again. The format leans on fictionalised reconstructions and high-pressure simulations, so you're not just following along — you're actually deciding where the investigation goes. It's pitched at true-crime fans and anyone curious about how the human brain works, and it's recommended for ages 16 and over.
It's a Crime Viral production, and previous stagings have picked up five-star reviews from Kent Live, the Sussex Courier, StageSideUK and the Rotherham Advertiser, with audiences calling it a 'thoroughly enjoyable night out' and 'mind-blowing content'.
