A camp musical comedy by OutCast Theatre that spoofs Ghostbusters and The Great British Bake Off.
Buff Dusters runs at The Lantern Theatre on Thursday 22 and Friday 23 October, both nights starting at 19:30. It's a camp musical comedy from OutCast Theatre, a Brighton company that's built its following on a string of cult musical hits including Camp Fear, Space Camp, NOTBIG Decides and Get Real: The Return!.
The show works as a double spoof, sending up Ghostbusters and The Great British Bake Off at the same time. It leans into the mash-up with just enough bread jokes to keep the audience rolling, and it runs for 80 minutes plus an interval. It's recommended for ages 11 and over.
If you've followed OutCast's previous work, you'll recognise the camp musical style they've brought to Camp Fear and Space Camp. This one takes that same energy and turns it on two very different things: the supernatural pest control of Ghostbusters and the polite, tented tension of The Great British Bake Off. The two sit side by side throughout, and the bread jokes are a good indicator of where the humour lands.
