Opening of a brand-new permanent gallery exhibition at Brighton Museum dedicated to the 125-year history of Brighton & Hove Albion FC, featuring immersive installations and historical objects.
The Brighton Museum and Art Gallery has confirmed the opening of a new permanent gallery titled Brighton & Hove Albion: Stand or Fall, scheduled for 15 August 2026. This announcement, made today on 20 February, marks the start of a 125-day countdown leading up to the club’s official anniversary on 24 June. The exhibition is designed as an immersive space that traces the history of the football club from its founding in 1901 through to the present day. It specifically highlights the last 30 years of the club's journey, documenting various challenges and achievements through a collection of historical objects, memorabilia provided by fans, and personal testimonials.

The gallery will also incorporate audiovisual installations to provide a more detailed look at the club's evolution. As this is a permanent addition to the Brighton Museum and Art Gallery, entry is expected to be covered by the standard museum admission prices, although any additional costs for this specific section haven't been detailed yet. The project is a collaboration between the museum and the club, aiming to appeal to local historians and families as much as the football community. It sits alongside a wider programme of events for the 125th anniversary, including a family festival at the Amex Stadium on 6 June and a commemorative match at the start of the 2026-27 season.
The exhibition shares its name, Stand or Fall, with an official club documentary. For those interested in the film, there are screenings planned ahead of the gallery opening, with dates set for 2 April in Worthing and 15 April in Brighton. By the time the gallery opens in August, the city will have already seen several months of anniversary activities. The focus of the museum display remains on the tangible history of the club, using items and stories from the people who have followed the team over the decades to create a permanent record of its place in the city.
