A joyous parade featuring fantastical sculptures, dance routines, and music as part of the Brighton Festival.
The Brighton Festival Children's Parade is returning to the city streets on Saturday, 6 June 2026. For those who have lived here a while, this event is a familiar fixture of the wider Brighton Festival, bringing a specific energy to the city centre. As the name suggests, the parade is designed with families and children in mind. The content of the procession typically involves a mix of dance routines, music, and large-scale sculptures created for the occasion. It functions as a participatory event, and given the nature of street parades in this area, there is no admission fee to watch the procession as it moves through the city. It is a straightforward way to spend a Saturday morning if you are looking to see what the local schools and community groups have been working on for the festival.
Since the route covers a significant stretch from Jubilee Street down to the seafront, it is worth keeping in mind that certain areas of the city centre will be busier than usual during the morning. If you are planning to be in town, the parade is a visible part of the festival schedule, and the route provides several vantage points along the way to see the sculptures and performances as they pass by.
