A cabaret and variety event featuring BOM-BEAR with Pete Fij, Jane Bom-Bane and Eliza Skelton as part of Brighton Fringe.
Brighton Fringe is back, and with it comes the usual mix of performances across the city. One of the spots that keeps things quite specific is Bom-Bane's Music Cafe, located at 24 George Street. This year, they are hosting a series of cabaret and variety shows under the name Bom-Binge throughout May 2026. It is a fairly intimate venue, which changes the dynamic of the performances compared to larger stages, and they have put together a schedule that shifts focus depending on the date you choose to visit.

The programming kicks off on 2 May with BOM-BEAR, featuring Pete Fij, Jane Bom-Bane, and Eliza Skelton. As the month progresses, the content changes quite a bit. You can catch Bom-Bane's Picture Palace on 6 May, followed by SILVER SWANS on 8 and 9 May, which includes Eliza, Emma Kilbey, and Jane. Later in the month, there is a tribute to Ivor Cutler titled DR BRAMWELL on 14 May, and a solo performance by Jane Bom-Bane on 16 May. The latter part of the month features TRAVELOGUE, a tribute to Joni Mitchell running from 21 to 23 May, and finally, FAERIE (SPRING VARIANT) with the Bom-Bane Family Players from 26 to 30 May.
If you are planning to head down, it is worth noting that this is a ticketed event with prices ranging between £10 and £40, depending on the specific show you select. The venue suggests that the content is suitable for those aged 7 and up. Logistics-wise, they do offer festival food, but it is not a walk-in situation for dining; you need to pre-book your meal in advance. The venue recommends arriving about an hour before the show starts to get settled. If you have questions about the schedule or need to arrange food, the contact number for the cafe is 07764 515583. It is a straightforward setup, and having the details sorted beforehand usually makes for a smoother evening at the cafe.
