Olivier award-nominated live stage show featuring puppets of Bluey, Bingo, Bandit and Chilli, based on an original story by Joe Brumm.
It looks like we have a major family event confirmed for next summer: Bluey's Big Play is coming to the Brighton Centre for a three-day run in July 2026. If you have little ones (or just appreciate good children's theatre), this is the live stage adaptation of the Emmy-winning TV show, and it even picked up an Olivier award nomination. The production uses brilliantly created puppets to bring Bluey, Bingo, Bandit, and Chilli to life on stage. What makes this show particularly interesting is that it’s not just a rehash of old episodes; the story is completely original, written by Bluey creator Joe Brumm himself, with new music composed by Joff Bush. The whole thing is produced by Andrew Kay and Cuffe & Taylor with Windmill Theatre Co for BBC Studios, ensuring it maintains the quality we expect from the franchise.

The plot sounds perfectly in line with the show’s spirit: Bluey and Bingo are trying to use every game and bit of cunning they have to get their dad, Bandit, off the couch when all he wants is a quiet afternoon rest. The show runs from Friday, July 10th, through Sunday, July 12th, 2026, at the Brighton Centre on Kings Road. If you’re planning your visit, the schedule is quite packed. On Friday, there are two performances, at 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Crucially, the 1:00 p.m. Friday show is the one scheduled to include BSL (British Sign Language) interpretation and Audio Description (AD). The weekend offers more flexibility, with three shows daily on Saturday and Sunday: 10:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m., and 4:00 p.m.
A quick note on logistics: the show is relatively short, running for about 40 to 50 minutes, which is helpful when planning around nap times or other activities. Since it’s classified as a Children’s Event, remember that anyone under 14 needs to be accompanied by an adult. Regarding tickets, prices start from £15. If you’re part of the Bluey Fan Club, you can jump into the presale starting Tuesday, May 13, 2025. For everyone else, general sale opens shortly after, on Friday, May 16, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. It’s worth noting the dates are quite far out, but securing tickets early for popular family shows is usually a good idea.
