Written by Willy Russell, the musical tells the powerful and often heartbreaking story of twin brothers, Mickey and Eddie. Separated at birth due to a desperate agreement between their working-class mother and her wealthy employer, the narrative follows their lives in Liverpool, sharply contrasting their upbringings and exploring themes of class division and destiny, culminating in fatal consequences. It’s known for its emotional depth and features songs like 'Tell Me It's Not True'. For this leg of the tour, the main roles are played by Vivienne Carlyle (Mrs Johnstone), Sean Jones (Mickey), and Joe Sleight (Eddie). You should plan for a full evening, as the performance runs for around 2 hours and 45 minutes to 2 hours and 50 minutes, including the interval.
If you are planning to go, there are plenty of options throughout the week. Evening performances run Tuesday through Saturday at 7:30 PM. If you prefer a daytime visit, matinees are scheduled for Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday afternoons at 2:30 PM. Tickets start affordably at £15.00 (though keep in mind the standard £3.95 transaction fee). Just a heads-up if you're bringing younger family members: the age guide is 12+, and children under five are not permitted in the auditorium.
