Concert by the indie-rock band Atlas from Rochdale, blending 70s rock riffs with jangly pop.
Atlas play The Green Door Store on Sunday 13 September, from 19:30 to 22:30. They're a five-piece indie-rock band from Rochdale, West Yorkshire, and their sound sits somewhere between 70s rock riffs and jangly pop. The five formed at Wardle Academy when they were all sixteen, starting out as a covers outfit with drummer Dylan at the helm before they moved on to writing their own material. The line-up is Adam Statham on vocals, Oscar Hill and Joe Bradwell on guitars, Ben Braddock on bass, and Marshall Lord on drums.
They've played nearly a hundred gigs in two years, including support slots for Ocean Colour Scene and The Lottery Winners. Their releases include the singles 'Don't Miss Mr Mills' and 'This Girl', the 2025 single 'Newen'', and the four-track EP Maybe In Time. They name The Only Ones, Terrorvision, The Fall and Jarvis Cocker as influences, and that mix of 70s rock and pop comes through in the songs.
