Live reggae concert by Alborosie at CHALK, presented by Citizen Live.
Alborosie plays CHALK on Sunday 23 May, with the set running from 18:30 to 22:00. It's a Citizen Live show, and the age limit is 14 and over.
If you're not familiar with the name, Alborosie is the stage name of Alberto D'Ascola, a Sicilian-born singer, deejay and producer who moved to Jamaica more than twenty years ago and made Kingston his home. He's been working in roots reggae since 1993, when he formed the band Reggae National Tickets in Italy. His biggest hit, 'Herbalist', came in 2006, alongside singles like 'Kingston Town', 'Rastafari Anthem', 'Slam Bam', 'Life' (featuring Jah Cure) and 'Call Up Jah', all released on his own Forward records label.
He's played more than 1,000 concerts worldwide, including a major world tour in 2025, and by 2024 he was drawing over 100 million streams and more than 10 million monthly listeners across all platforms — a following that's earned him a reputation as the international reggae benchmark. Two years after the album Destiny, he's back with a new opus, and the set mixes new singles with must-have tracks from a vast catalogue that ranges across roots, rub-a-dub, raggamuffin, dancehall and dub.
