A garden-themed afternoon tea with sweet and savoury treats, including a special Little Seedlings menu for under-12s.
Dobbies Brighton has launched its Gardener's Afternoon Tea, which runs from 7 September through to 11 November. It's a three-tier spread of sweet and savoury treats, and they've pitched it as a good fit for birthdays, anniversaries or just a slow day out with friends and family. Sessions start from 12:00, though the exact times vary, so it's worth checking your booking before you head over.
The bottom tier is the savoury side: freshly made sandwiches including free-range egg and cress, smoked salmon with cream cheese and cucumber, chicken and bacon, and honey-roast ham and tomato. The middle tier is the classic part, with plain and fruit scones served with Cornish clotted cream and strawberry jam. The top tier is the patisserie selection, with blackberry cheesecake, chocolate mousse cake and pistachio layer cake. It all comes with a pot of tea or coffee and unlimited free refills, and there's an option to upgrade to a speciality hot drink or prosecco if you're in the mood for something a bit more celebratory.
There are vegetarian and non-gluten versions available, though it's worth knowing that a vegan or dairy-free version isn't on the menu at the moment. If you're bringing the kids, there's a Little Seedlings Afternoon Tea for under-12s, which swaps the cakes and scones for flower-shaped sandwiches, a scone, carrot and cucumber sticks, a mini doughnut, a cupcake and a Tunnock's tea cake, all with fruit squash to drink.
