Live performance by the legendary experimental dub and tribal percussion project African Head Charge, with special guest Gaudi.
If you have been keeping an eye on the local music calendar, you might have noticed that the African Head Charge concert in Brighton has been rescheduled. Originally planned for May, the performance is now set to take place on Friday, 2 October 2026. The venue remains the same, with the show happening at Chalk, located at 13 Pool Valley. If you had already purchased tickets for the original May date, they remain valid for this new October slot, though refund options are available if the change in schedule doesn't work for your plans.

For those unfamiliar with the project, African Head Charge is led by percussionist Bonjo Iyabinghi Noah and is known for blending experimental music with tribal percussion, dub, and world music influences. It is a distinct sound that has been around for quite some time, and this live show will also feature Gaudi as a special guest. It is worth noting that the event is open to anyone aged 14 and over, making it a fairly accessible show for different age groups.
Regarding the logistics, doors are scheduled to open at 18:00. Ticket prices are currently fluctuating between approximately £22.50 and £28.62, depending on the platform you use to book. Since Chalk is a venue that accommodates various needs, it is good to know that they have a dedicated accessibility platform, step-free access, and accessible toilets. If you require a personal assistant ticket or have specific accessibility requirements, the venue suggests getting in touch with the ticket provider, DICE, to sort those details out before the night of the show.
