Thompson Twins' Tom Bailey with special guests Blancmange

Thompson Twins' Tom Bailey plays the Bournemouth Pavilion on Saturday 12 September 2026, with Blancmange as special guests. It's a double bill from two names that go back to the 1980s synth-pop scene, and the setlist pulls from both the old and the new.

Bailey was the lead singer and co-writer of the Thompson Twins, a band known for blending pop, new wave and synth-driven dance music. They were among the British acts that successfully broke into America, and they appeared at Live Aid in Philadelphia with Nile Rodgers on guitar and Madonna on backing vocals. Since then, Bailey has worked as a songwriter, performer and producer, playing on Grace Jones' 'My Jamaican Guy' and Foreigner's 'I Want to Know What Love Is'.

On stage, he performs as Thompson Twins' Tom Bailey, and the set brings together the band's best-known songs — 'Hold Me Now', 'Doctor Doctor', 'In the Name of Love', 'Love On Your Side', 'If You Were Here', 'Lies, Lay Your Hands On Me' and 'King for a Day' — alongside tracks from his debut solo album, Science Fiction. He's joined by Charlotte Raven, Paulina Szczepaniak and Alice Offley. The support comes from Neil Arthur, who now tours as Blancmange, long-time friends of Bailey and fellow figures from that same 80s synth-pop era.

Tickets start from £37.25, and the whole thing takes place at the Bournemouth Pavilion on 12 September.
