Professor Brian Cox: Emergence World Tour

Professor Brian Cox brings his Emergence world tour to Windsor Hall at the Bournemouth International Centre (BIC) on Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 November, with both shows starting at 7:30pm and running until 9:30pm. It's his first Bournemouth date since his previous show, Horizons, which played to nearly half a million people worldwide.

Emergence is a live show about how complexity arises from the laws of nature, across the universe and life on Earth. Cox describes it as a scientific history that takes in everything from black holes and the cosmic web to snowflakes and the human brain, built with the largest and most advanced LED screens available. It's not a formal academic lecture, but a conversational, multimedia presentation aimed at adults and older teenagers, with large-scale visuals, sound and lighting doing a lot of the heavy lifting.

Cox is a Professor of Particle Physics at The University of Manchester and the Royal Society Professor for Public Engagement in Science. Over the last 15 years he's fronted landmark BBC programmes, from the Peabody Award-winning Wonders of the Solar System to the hit series The Planets, and written best-selling books including Human Universe and Universal: A Guide to the Cosmos. He calls Emergence the most ambitious show he's ever written.
