Screening of the documentary film 'The People's Emergency Briefing' followed by a panel Q&A with local and national experts on the climate and nature crisis.
The People's Emergency Briefing comes to the Bournemouth Pavilion Ballroom on Tuesday 20 October, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. It's a screening of the 50-minute film of the same name, followed by a panel Q&A with Brian Bleese, Chief Executive of Dorset Wildlife Trust; Darren Langdown from Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service; and Julia Davies of We Have The POWER.
The film itself brings together leading UK experts alongside names you'll recognise: naturalist Chris Packham, actress and comedian Jennifer Saunders, and entrepreneur Deborah Meaden. Together they lay out what the latest science says about the climate and nature crisis, how it's already affecting our lives, and what can still be done. It's adapted from the National Emergency Briefing originally presented to MPs and political leaders at Westminster, and it's framed as an evidence-based overview rather than a political or campaigning film. Specialists cover climate science, food systems, health, economics, national security, and extreme weather.
The public version launched nationally in April and has been showing at community venues and independent cinemas across the UK. This Bournemouth screening is hosted by Dorset Wildlife Trust, with Dorset Chamber, BCP Council, and Transition Town Poole, and sponsored by Lush. It's aimed at residents, community groups, and local organisations.
