Sing-A-Long-A-Gareth: At The Movies

Gareth Malone is coming to the Bournemouth Pavilion Theatre on Thursday 12 November, with his new show Sing-A-Long-A-Gareth: At The Movies. It's a live singalong built around songs from the cinema, and as the title suggests, you're meant to join in rather than just sit and listen.

The setlist pulls from a few different eras of film. There are the older standards, Singin' in the Rain and Moon River, and the disco-era Stayin' Alive. Then it moves into more recent territory with Take My Breath Away and City of Stars, and a Bond medley that brings together the 007 themes. Alongside those are family favourites from Frozen, Moana and Sing, so it's a mix that works as much for kids as it does for anyone who grew up with the classics.

Malone won't be on his own. He's backed by his live band, a group of singers and local choirs, and he leads the audience through the songs throughout the night. It follows last year's singalong tour, which saw thousands of people across the country fill theatres with song, laughter and joy. For decades he's been known for starting up choirs in schools, workplaces and communities, and he's become one of Britain's best-loved champions of singing.

It's a new show for this tour, so it's not just a repeat of what he did last year. The performance starts at 7:30pm, and tickets are from £37.75.
