Charity running weekend featuring a half marathon, 10K, 5K night run and junior races along the Bournemouth coastline.
Run Bournemouth returns on the weekend of 9 and 10 October 2027, with races running along the coast between Boscombe and Bournemouth Piers. The course takes you past the town's blue flag beaches and both piers, with the finish area at Bournemouth Pier Approach. The organisers describe the routes as incredibly flat and fast, so it's a good spot if you're chasing a personal best rather than fighting hills.
There's a few different ways to get involved. The Half Marathon is the big one, and the Supersonic 10K sits just under it. If you're looking for something a bit shorter, the Supernova 5K is the weekend's more playful chapter: a night run on the promenade where people turn up with head torches and fluorescent outfits. There are also junior races for the younger ones, so it works as a family thing rather than just a solo effort. Every finisher walks away with a wicking t-shirt, a medal, a distance keyring and a personalised event number with a timing chip.
The whole weekend supports Hospice UK, the national champion for hospices, which campaigns to ensure everyone affected by death, dying and bereavement gets the care and support they need. The organisers describe the October date as 'running as it should be', leaving first-timers the spring and summer to train for the half marathon.
