Shoegaze pioneers Ride return to the stage for their 'Here and Now' 2027 UK tour, playing their classic catalogue at the O2 Academy.
Ride are playing the O2 Academy in Bournemouth on Friday 12 February 2027, as part of their Here and Now tour. It's their first set of shows in three years, and the set leans on the band's catalogue of classics rather than their most recent work.
If you're coming to them as a new listener, it helps to know where they fit. Ride are shoegaze pioneers, formed in Oxford in 1988, and they helped define the sound with their debut album Nowhere before calling it a day in 1996. The four-piece — guitarist Andy Bell, vocalist Mark Gardener, drummer Laurence 'Loz' Colbert and bassist Steve Queralt — reunited in 2014 and have put out three studio albums since: Weather Diaries, This Is Not A Safe Place and 2024's Interplay, which arrived in March and picked up four stars from Far Out. This tour marks their first time back on the road since then.
There's a bit of history to this particular run, too. The Here and Now tour returns them to London's Brixton Academy, the scene of one of their biggest shows, more than three decades on from the 1992 date filmed as the live concert film Ride - Live at Brixton Academy. The Bournemouth date is part of that same run.

And the members have been busy while the band was off. Andy Bell has been touring with Oasis on their record-breaking reunion shows, and Steve Queralt released his debut solo album, Swallow. So this is the first time the four of them will be back together on stage in three years, and the set is built around the older songs that made them known in the first place. The show is at the O2 Academy on 12 February 2027.
