An award-winning queer dance theatre show by Thick & Tight that explores the natural and unnatural through performed portraits of life forms.
Thick & Tight bring their award-winning show Natural Behaviour to Pavilion Dance South West on Friday 9 October, from 7:30 pm to 8:45 pm. It's part of the venue's autumn season, and it's a queer variety show that sits somewhere between a stage performance and a biology essay come alive.
Rather than a single story, the show is built as a collection of performed portraits of human and non-human life forms. It's billed as a variety show with a queer difference, and that's where the biology comes in: it looks at what it means to be natural or unnatural, and makes a point of the role diversity plays in all life. It's the kind of thing that works as a series of vignettes, so you get a few different perspectives on the same theme throughout the night.
Thick & Tight are a dance theatre company, and Natural Behaviour has picked up an award along the way. The show is staged at Pavilion Dance South West on Westover Road, a Bournemouth company that programmes a mix of theatre shows and social dances, so this fits right into their autumn line-up. It runs for an hour and fifteen minutes, from 7:30 pm to 8:45 pm.
