Impressionist and comedian Mike Osman pays tribute to comedy legend Jethro in a nostalgic and hilarious show.
Mike Osman brings his tribute to Jethro to the Bournemouth Pavilion Ballroom on Thursday 13 August, the first of four dates he's playing there over the summer. If you can't make that one, he's back on Thursday 20 August, Monday 31 August, and Sunday 13 September, so there are plenty of chances to catch it.
Osman was a close friend of the late Jethro, and he built the show to keep the comic's name alive. It's a mix of Jethro's classic jokes and stories alongside new material Osman says Jethro would have added himself. The whole thing leans on his impression of the man, which is what he's known for, and he bills it as 'granny-approved' comedy.
There's a personal side to it too. Jethro's partner and widow, Jennie, has called Osman the only person who could do justice to the tribute, and she sent him four of Jethro's iconic ties to carry on stage. That's a nice touch that puts the whole thing in context โ it's not just a comedian doing a set, but a friend keeping a name going.
