Katherine Jenkins celebrates 25 years in music on her 25 Year Anniversary Tour, joined by special guest Jodok on cello.
Katherine Jenkins is playing the Bournemouth Pavilion Theatre on Friday 9 October, part of her 25 Year Anniversary Tour. It's her first tour in five years, and the whole thing marks a quarter-century in music. She's joined on the night by special guest Jodok on cello.
Jenkins first made her mark in 2003 with a performance at Westminster Cathedral for Pope John Paul II, and she's spent the years since becoming one of the most recognisable names in classical crossover. Classic FM gave her the title of the century's biggest-selling classical artist, and she's put out 14 number-one albums along the way. Much of that has taken her into the middle of British national life: she sang at Queen Elizabeth II's Diamond Jubilee, performed at Coronation concerts at Buckingham Palace, and sang at the monarch's 90th birthday celebrations at Windsor Castle.
Outside the concert hall, she's worked in film, appearing in Minamata and Dream Horse, and has taken on a few other roles: she was named Lady Sponsor of HMS Cardiff, launched the gin brand Cygnet, and opened the first SXSW London festival. The set is expected to pull from the songs she's best known for, with Time To Say Goodbye, Jealous of the Angels and I Will Always Love You likely to be among them.
