Ginger Johnson: Show Pony

Ginger Johnson is back at the Bournemouth Pavilion on Saturday 24 October with her new live show, Show Pony. It's her first Bournemouth date since her 2024 tour Ginger Johnson Blows Off!, and this one is built around the same high-camp energy she's known for.

If you've followed her for a while, you'll know where she comes from. She first made a name for herself in the MasterChef kitchen and on the Drag Race runway, and she's kept that mix of cooking and drag at the heart of her act. Show Pony is billed as a barnstorming night of whip-smart comedy and top-tier talent, and she describes it as high camp, low morals, and full of her trademark ridiculousness. She's also taken to calling herself the nation's silliest sausage, which gives you a fair idea of the tone she's aiming for.

The reviews have been strong. Theatre Weekly called it "hilarious" and a "stellar comedic performance", The Reviews Hub described it as "comedy gold", and Curtain Call Reviews labelled her a "powerhouse of entertainment". It's a comedy show that doesn't shy away from the campier side of drag, so it's as much about the spectacle as it is about the jokes.

It's a one-night-only stop in Bournemouth, so if you want to see it, you'll need to get your tickets sorted in advance. The show is at the Bournemouth Pavilion Ballroom on Westover Road, BH1 2BU, starting at 8:00pm. Tickets are £35.50.
