A celebratory live concert marking David Essex's career with classic hits and stories, including his Grammy-nominated 'Rock On'.
David Essex brings his Thanks for the Memories tour to the Bournemouth Pavilion Theatre on Tuesday 8 September, a celebratory night looking back over a career that's run through music, stage and screen. He's an OBE, and the show draws on a catalogue that includes the Grammy-nominated Rock On — which topped the charts in both Britain and the USA — alongside Lamplight, Hold Me Close and Gonna Make You A Star. In total, he's put out millions of album sales and twenty-three Top 30 singles.
But the music is only one part of it. Essex has spent as much time on stage as he has in the studio, with starring roles in Godspell, Evita, Footloose and Andrew Lloyd Webber's Aspects Of Love. He's also written his own musicals, Mutiny! and All The Fun Of The Fair. On screen, he's appeared in films like Silver Dream Machine, That'll Be The Day and Stardust, and played the head of the Moon family in the BBC's EastEnders. This tour follows two previous UK runs that sold over 65,000 tickets.
